Who we are
LIC Premium Calculators is a free, independent website that helps people in India understand Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) policies before they buy, and make sense of the ones they already hold. We build calculators and plain-language guides for LIC plans in English, Hindi and Marathi, so that anyone can check a premium or a maturity value in the language they are most comfortable with.
We are not LIC, not an LIC agent and not an insurance intermediary. We do not sell policies, collect premiums or earn commission on any plan we write about.
Our mission
Buying life insurance is a long commitment, often 15 to 30 years of premiums. Yet many people sign up with only a verbal estimate of what they will pay and receive. Our mission is simple: give every policyholder and buyer clear, honest numbers before they commit, and explain those numbers without jargon.
What we do
- Plan calculators. A calculator for each LIC plan we cover, current and withdrawn, showing the estimated premium, GST, maturity value and death benefit.
- General tools. Maturity, bonus, surrender value, pension, term and other calculators that work across plans.
- Premium charts. Tables showing the yearly premium for a fixed sum assured at different ages and terms.
- Plan guides. Articles covering eligibility, benefits, tax treatment, who each plan suits and how it compares with its sibling or replacement plan.
Everything is free to use, needs no login and runs in your browser.
How our calculators are built
Each calculator starts from the plan’s published parameters: entry ages, policy and premium paying terms, minimum sum assured, rebates, bonus structure and benefit rules taken from LIC’s brochures and policy documents. We then apply premium rate tables and formulas, test them against sample figures, and check edge cases such as the youngest and oldest entry ages.
Some things a calculator cannot know: your medical report, occupation, underwriting decision, the exact bonus LIC will declare in future years, or a change in tax rules. That is why every result on this site is an estimate. It is a good starting point for a conversation with LIC or your agent, not a substitute for a formal quotation or the policy document.
Independence
We have no business relationship with LIC or any insurer, and no plan pays to be featured or ranked. If we ever show advertising, it will be clearly separated from our content and will not influence what we write. Our editorial policy explains how we research, review and correct our content.
Our team
Content and calculators are written and maintained by the LIC Premium Calculators Editorial Team, a small team that researches LIC plans, writes the guides and builds the calculators. Every article is fact-checked against plan documents and reviewed before publication, and pages are revisited when LIC launches, revises or withdraws a plan. The date at the top of each page shows when it was last reviewed.

Frequently asked questions
Are you LIC or an LIC agent?
No. We are an independent website with no connection to Life Insurance Corporation of India, and we do not sell policies or earn commission on them. Our job is to explain LIC plans and help you estimate premiums and benefits before you speak to LIC or an agent.
Where do your premium rates come from?
From LIC's published plan brochures, sales literature and policy documents, together with premium rates and rules collected and checked by our team. We compare our outputs with sample quotations wherever we can. The results are estimates, not quotations.
How can I report a mistake?
Email hello@licpremiumcalculator.net with the page link, the inputs you used and the figure you expected. We check every report and correct confirmed errors, usually within a few working days.
